El sábado 9 de julio de 2022 se celebró la Quincuagésima Quinta Ceremonia de Graduación USFQ. Cerca de 700 nuevos graduados de pregrado y posgrado, recibieron su título profesional y la felicitación de toda la comunidad universitaria y sus familiares. El evento contó con la presencia de Michel Deller, Empresario y Dirigente Deportivo, quien compartió con los invitados un discurso motivador sobre su experiencia empresarial en el marco de la industria deportiva ecuatoriana. Así mismo, las autoridades universitarias destacaron en sus intervenciones el espíritu de las artes liberales de la universidad y el gran trabajo académico e investigativo que ha impulsado a la USFQ a convertirse en la número 1 en Ecuador.
Como una actividad cultural previa a la ceremonia, la Compañía de Danza Contemporánea, TALVEZ, presentó su obra titulada “Ocasos: de vacíos y finales”, en la cual sus bailarines vistieron prendas elaboradas con polímeros comestibles, proyecto de D-Lab USFQ. El acompañamiento sonoro estuvo a cargo del Colectivo Improvisación IN-SITU.
Para cerrar la noche, los graduados disfrutaron de la Ceremonia de las Luces, ritual tradicional dirigido por Santiago Gangotena, en el cual los nuevos profesionales encienden en sus velas con la silueta de la mascota universitaria, el dragón, en honor a las 10 casas universitarias las mismas que representan a los fundadores y líderes de la USFQ.
