Sumergible, largometraje escrito y dirigido Alfredo León León, graduado COCOA de Cine y actual profesor
de la carrera, ganó el premio a mejor película en el Ecuadorian Film
Festival EFFNY en New York (festival dirigido por el también graduado COCOA
Cristian Ponce).
El veredicto del jurado dice lo siguiente:
For its exciting energy
and dramatic tension, which engage the viewer in the action from start to
finish, supported by great ensemble acting by a talented cast. A cinematic
achievement shot imaginatively in just one challenging location: a cramped,
leaky narco sub. With its raw emotions, claustrophobic location, and fast cuts,
the film brings a fresh take to a familiar story of drug smuggling that, sadly,
continues to plague Ecuador today.
